    Cinderella’s Closet
Cinderella’s Closet provides formal wear to girls that could not otherwise
attend prom. Even more important than providing a beautiful prom dress, we are able to provide an experience like no other for these young ladies. Once they enter Cinderella’s Closet, they are
lavished with hospitality, love and grace. They leave believing they are cherished. It is for this reason that we opened Cinderella’s Closet. For more information on Cinderella’s Closet, please contact Grace member, Hope Inman, hopewalters@hotmail.cm

Mother Hubbard’s

Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard is a local food pantry. They distribute groceries twice a week to over 300 families per week. Volunteers take donations from Grace UMC to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard every Wednesday and Saturday.
Their mission statement is: Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard is called to serve those who are hungry in the
Wilmington area through distribution of emergency food. This service is provided by volunteers in
partnership with the community, without regard to race or religion and with care to preserve the dignity of
the individuals being served. Grace members have participated on the Board of the Cupboard in the past and continue to serve as volunteers several days each month.

Grace UMC is reaching out to students at Sunset Park Elementary
School in several ways. We have a supply drive when needed and a
book drive so that each student gets a book to take home. We are
also providing library help and in classroom help with reading, etc.
Our outreach also focuses on the staff by providing Support Partners,
occasional snacks and lunch. All of these provide a way to share
God’s love with them throughout the year. To find out how you can help click the MORE button below.
 The Warming Shelter
The Warming Shelter operates in the Bullock Activity Center to assist those experiencing homelessness in possible life-threatening weather conditions. Be on the lookout for upcoming ways to donate and volunteer for this mission. For more information visit their website at:

ANGEL TREE | Methodist Home for Children

The main offices of Methodist Home for Children are in Raleigh. Services offered include therapeutic foster care, adoptions, in-home services, early childhood services and juvenile home services. The Methodist Home for Children has a large presence in the Wilmington area, providing in-home
care for families and children in crisis to help keep them together if at all possible; if needed, children can go to a mental health group home. Major fundraising efforts occur twice a year, in the Fall in Wilmington and in the Winter in Raleigh.
The Wilmington event is named Epicurean Evening and includes dinner from many of the incredible chefs who work here, a silent auction and a live auction. Attendees vote and award prizes in various categories to the participating chefs. In November, an angel tree in the lobby is covered with angels who list specific gifts and needs of families and children in the programs locally. Congregation members shop, bring the unwrapped gifts to the church and they are then delivered by the program to the parents who wrap them for
Christmas. To learn more please contact the church at outreach@gracedowntown.net.
